Jackrabbit Studio Explores Rounded Organic Forms

In his Hudson Valley workshop, Brett Miller of Jackrabbit Studio creates work — primarily in wood — that explores his fascination with rounded, organic forms.

His sculptural forms each have a distinct personality, stemming either from smooth curves that beg to be touched or rich materiality that often combines disparate textures. His new collection is filled with standout pieces — from a Mediterranean-inspired plaster and walnut sofa that sits atop columnar forms, to a suite of mismatched maple dining chairs on two legs, to a long-necked floor lamp whose Black Walnut base came from a fallen tree on a friend’s property. The Primary Chubby Chair is a variation on one of Miller’s original designs, reimagined for the moment in kinder core colors.
