Job Details

Bit Reactor is looking for an environmental artist to join us in exploring and expanding the Star Wars universe. Our environments are populated with a variety of assets ranging from architecture, hard surface objects, and organic shapes that will be both familiar and new to fans. You'll work with other members of the art, cinematics, and design teams to create beautiful worlds that will be visually stunning yet technically capable and fun to play.

Skills & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Create modular and unique environment assets with different scales of complexity
  • Possess modeling skills with a mix of hard surfaces and organic assets
  • Develop game instrument from a mix source of images and concept art
  • Work with the Environmental Director to create immersive environments while maintaining the visual direction of the project
  • Produce game assets that perform within design specifications and performance needs
  • Implement, iterate and revise assets in the engine
  • Assist with Level Design, Lighting, VFX and Tech Art

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of skill in the video game industry
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • A solid understanding of shape, form and composition
  • Proven capabilities in creating optimized 3D assets
  • Solid experience with PBR workflows
  • Proficiency in industry standard modeling tools such as 3D Studio Max and Maya
  • Knowledge of working with ZBrush, Photoshop and Substance Painter
  • Good skills and ability to work well in a team
  • A desire to learn and improve as an artist
  • Experiment with tile textures and finish sheets

More Skills:

  • Experience working on a AAA title, especially a comfort title
  • Make the relationship between art and level design

  • Knowledge of contemporary art production pipelines and contemporary software packages
  • Expertise in common production practices and methodologies
  • Highly and excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Able to navigate the unknown and creatively solve problems that solve challenges
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine

Main Responsibilities:

  • Own and contribute to the long-term vision of tech art and art sustainability across Apex
  • Organize and direct the department's research and solutions towards performance and quality.
  • Break down existing processes and pipelines, identify improvements, define goals, build consensus around ideas, then execute the plan.
  • Define, review, test and integrate new tools to activate the art department of Apex. (both internal and standard)

Base salary is only part of the overall compensation package at EA. We also offer a benefits package including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours sick time per year, 16 paid time off per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (after 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. About Work

As a Cinematic Animator, your role will be to clean up motion capture animations and assist the Cinematic Artist with all animation related needs for cutscenes. We have our own animation pipelines using Xsens combinations.

DUTIES

  • Clean and improve body motion capture animations from our motion capture recordings (Xsens suits)
  • Clean and improve facial motion capture
  • Assistance with various animation tasks, including keyframes
  • Accompaniment on the realization of cutscenes

CREATIVE SKILLS

  • You have an in-depth knowledge of human anatomy and have a pronounced artistic vision when it comes to animation.
  • You master Blender / Maya / 3DS Max and are able to produce your own animations.
  • You are curious and always on the lookout for new technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of your animation workflow.
  • You know how to clean mocap data for body and face.
  • Experience with the UE5 sequencer is a plus.
