Responsibilities

• Provide creative direction and vision for the animation department, ensuring alignment with the overall art direction of the project.
• Lead and manage a team of animators, providing guidance, mentorship and support to foster their growth and ensure the delivery of exceptional animation work.
• Animate challenging scenes to showcase your skills and set a high standard for the team.
• Review and provide constructive feedback on the work of animators, ensuring that their animations are of the highest quality and in line with the artistic direction of the project.
• Have a keen eye for detail and ensure that all animation shots meet required standards and are visually compelling.
• Work closely with the creative team to establish the animation style, visual aesthetic and overall approach to storytelling.
• Work closely with other departments, such as modeling, editing, and lighting, to ensure seamless integration and consistency across all aspects of the animation pipeline.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools and techniques, and implement them to improve the quality and creativity of our animation work.
• Collaborate with production managers to establish realistic project schedules, allocate resources efficiently and ensure timely delivery of animation milestones.
• Maintain effective communication with team members and stakeholders, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an animation director or similar leadership role within the animation industry.
• Solid portfolio demonstrating expertise in animation, storytelling and artistic vision.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of facilitators.
• Extensive knowledge of animation principles, techniques and tools, with proficiency in industry standard software.
• Ability to animate and manage difficult scenes to showcase your expertise and set high standards for the team.
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of animations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Up-to-date knowledge of animation industry trends, advancements and best practices.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Passion for animation, storytelling and pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling through animation.
