SideFX is looking for an exceptional Senior Technical Writer with great attention to detail to join our Technical Documentation team.

Responsibilities:
- Create awesome technical documentation and learning materials for artists and tech artists, such as how-to guides, tutorials, reference pages, and videos.
- Provide clear and concise content in plain English and Houdini help style.
- Collaborate with developers, CTOs, UX designers, and other writers to communicate complex ideas to artistic audiences.
- Review and proofread content created by developers and other non-writing subject matter experts.
- Own your domains and schedule documentation deliverables for those domains.
- Be a user advocate and help improve the user experience.

Skills and Requirements:
- Diploma/certificate in a related field (English, technical communication, 3D art, programming) or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of technical writing experience.
- Experience writing user guides and tutorials.
- Experience creating annotated screenshots, diagrams and videos.
- Skills with 3D DCC software packages (Houdini, Maya, Blender).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work in multiple areas at once.
- Strong written and face-to-face communication skills.
- Be proactive and independent.
- Independent apprentice.
Not required but great to have:
- Production experience in film, television or games.
- Experience with Houdini software.
- Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal).
- Writing experience without WYSIWYG (Markdown).
- Experience with source code control tools (Subversion and GitHub).
- Understanding of API documentation.
- Experience with VEX or Python scripting languages.
