Job Description
With a technical approach to photorealistic effects, the artist will be responsible for creating the collections of maps required for the assembly of materials that will be attached to the 3D objects. These textures/materials will then be rendered using Arnold Renderer’.
The textures can be made from photos, scans, or painted by hand and any other means necessary to obtain the closest to the existing surfaces. The use of procedural software, as well as the use of PBR texture collections may be required in order to bring out the most realistic renderings possible.
- Ability to create photorealistic textures
- Development of the final rendering under the supervision of the lighting team
- Work with “Lookdev” artists and composers to achieve the best possible renderings
- Ability to be led by other departments and apply required changes
Qualifications:
- Perfect understanding of UV unfolding techniques in Maya
- Knowledge of UDIMs and optimization techniques
- Ability to work with Zbrush if needed
- Mastery of the Substance Painter tool (Substance Designer is a plus)
- Understanding of material creation with Arnold is required
- Experience with Mari is a plus
