Technical Art Director

Job Details

We needed  someone to join our production teams to be our artistic/graphic technical director on our new IP. The candidate must have a solid experience in this role in previous games. You are an expert in rendering, lighting, performance, memory, communication, building pipelines, planning, and most importantly, a leader that others enjoy working with.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with art, game direction to ensure we “achieve” our dreams in terms of visuals.
• Be the artistic/technological director of the visual arts content production teams.
• Establish and maintain pipelines, technical guidelines, budgets with/for visual art teams.
• Constant monitoring of the technical integrity of visual data. Ensure that performance and memory budgets are controlled and adhered to by visual art teams, while respecting our art direction and game (vision) goals.
• Work closely with technical artists, artists, programmers and other technical directors.
• Teaching and mentoring as needed.
•  Ensure state-of-the-art use of our Unreal 5 engine, in terms of rendering, creation and data usage.
• Plan short/medium/long term needs for art/graphics technology.
• Participate in the development of functionalities and tools.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience as Art Director/Technical Graphics on at least one leading real-time game engine.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of real-time rendering, data, performance and memory.
• Has built pipelines and workflows in the past.
• Skills of Unreal, Python and game industry standard DCCs.
