Pedestal installation at Other Circle 2026 reflects on screens and rituals

Pedestal’s installation at Other Circle 2026 in Copenhagen presents a contemplative response to the role of screens in contemporary interiors. The Danish interior brand has created a new display for the design exhibition, centred on a sculptural podium by designer Jacob Egeberg. The installation brings together the podium, a curated screen setup and a five-minute mindfulness meditation developed in collaboration with RAVE.

The project continues Pedestal’s interest in how technology can become more integrated into domestic space. Known for its TV stands, power solutions and accessories, the brand designs objects that acknowledge the growing presence of screens while treating them as part of the interior environment. At Other Circle 2026, this approach moves from product presentation into installation, using atmosphere, object and digital content to frame the screen as a quieter presence.

At the centre of the installation is a podium designed by Jacob Egeberg. Defined by an organic silhouette and tactile surface, the object sits between furniture and sculpture, offering a physical base for the screen while holding its own material identity. Its form softens the technical character often associated with media objects, creating a more considered relationship between support, display and surrounding space.

Placed on the podium, the Pedestal setup presents an original mindfulness meditation created with RAVE. The five-minute experience combines subtle visuals, sound and pacing to slow the visitor’s attention. Instead of treating the screen as a device for constant stimulation, the installation uses it as a medium for pause, atmosphere and ritual. The result is a controlled encounter in which technology becomes part of a reflective interior scene.

The installation responds to the accelerated way screens are usually consumed in daily life. By placing a digital experience within a sculptural and spatial composition, Pedestal reframes the screen as something that can support calm and presence rather than distraction. This shift is central to the brand’s wider design language, which is rooted in Scandinavian principles of simplicity, function and clarity while responding to changing lifestyle habits.

Presented within the context of Other Circle 2026, the project also reflects the exhibition’s broader interest in contemporary design culture and emerging modes of living. Pedestal uses the setting not only to show a product, but to test how an interior object can shape behaviour. The installation asks how screens might be placed, supported and experienced differently when they are treated as part of the architecture of everyday rituals.
