Rami: Save Myself

Rami: Save Myself

RAMI’s “Save Myself” takes the familiar image of a woman waiting to be rescued and gives her a different ending. The idea comes from a period when she felt lost and waited for someone or something to show her the way forward. The person she needed to find, she came to realize, was herself.

That change did not happen overnight. RAMI describes rebuilding her life step by step, recovering her confidence and finding her way back to herself. The fairytale image of a princess waiting in a tower gives the song a clear point of departure, but the story no longer depends on someone arriving from outside. The rescue begins when the waiting stops.

With its cinematic pop approach, “Save Myself” frames that realization as a new beginning rather than a sudden victory. There is no single moment when everything falls into place. There is only the next step, then another, taken without waiting for someone else to arrive.

For those who might not know you yet, how would you introduce yourself?

My name is RAMI, and I’m originally from Hungary. Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve always known I wanted to be a singer. I started singing in a choir when I was very young, and by the time I was 15, I was already taking my passion seriously and trying to figure out how to turn my dream into reality. At a young age, I signed with Warner Music Hungary, released an album and several music videos, and had the opportunity to perform on television and radio. Later, I moved to Italy, where I continued studying music and exploring different cultures. Now I live in Nashville, Tennessee, and I’m embracing a completely new chapter of my musical journey. It’s exciting, challenging, and full of new experiences. As an artist, I want to give people something real: real emotions, real vocals, and stories they can connect with. That’s exactly what I wanted to bring to my latest single, “Save Myself.”

If you had to bottle up your sound into just three words, which ones would you choose?

Powerful. Emotional. Cinematic. I think these three words describe the direction I’m going in musically. I love powerful vocals, emotional storytelling, and music that makes you feel like you’re watching a movie. I want people to experience something when they listen to my songs, not just hear them.

Which artists (not only music-related) or moments have left the biggest mark on your music?

That’s a difficult question because I feel like everything I’ve experienced has shaped the artist I am today. Growing up in Hungary, living in Italy, and now building my life in the United States have all influenced me in different ways. I grew up surrounded by different musical traditions, from Hungarian folk music to international pop, and I’ve always been drawn to strong voices and emotional performances. But if I had to choose one thing that has influenced my music the most, I would say life itself. Every experience, every country I’ve lived in, every challenge, and every new beginning has left a mark on me. I think we carry all those experiences into our art, sometimes without even realizing it.

When you hit play on your songs, what kind of feeling takes over?

It’s honestly an emotional roller coaster! It really depends on which song I’m listening to. When I listen to my older music, I feel nostalgic. It takes me back to a different chapter of my life, and I remember who I was at that time. But when I listen to “Save Myself,” I feel something different. I feel proud. I’m incredibly proud of this project, not only because of the music itself but also because of everything it represents to me personally. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come, and it makes me excited about what’s ahead.

If you could team up with anyone in the world, no limits, who would be that dream collaborator?

Oh, that’s a difficult one! There are so many incredible artists I’d love to work with that I could probably give you five pages of names! I think Bruno Mars would be so much fun to collaborate with. He’s an incredible performer and musician, and I love his energy. And Lady Gaga would definitely be another dream collaboration. I admire her creativity, powerful vocals, and the theatrical world she creates around her music. I actually think our voices could work really well together! But honestly, the list is endless. There are so many talented people in the world, and I would love the opportunity to create something special with them.

What are you working on now, and what are your plans for the future? Anything exciting you can tell us about?

Yes! I’m actually working on something very exciting right now: the music video for my latest single, “Save Myself.” It’s a very ambitious, cinematic project, and I’m incredibly excited to share it with everyone. The concept came to me while I was on a flight from Washington, D.C., to Nashville. I imagined this fairytale world with a castle, a tower, and a woman who eventually realizes that she doesn’t need anyone to rescue her because she has the strength to save herself. We filmed the video in Los Angeles with an incredible creative team, including director Suzanna Kiss, VFX supervisor Jason Howey, and visual effects consultant Bruce Jones. We combined live-action footage with visual effects to create a magical, cinematic world. Michael Toledo was responsible for the VFX and AI elements of the music video. The video also incorporates symbolism inspired by tarot cards, with each scene representing a different emotional stage of the journey. That’s also why I describe “Save Myself” as cinematic pop. I love music that tells a story and creates a whole visual and emotional experience. Looking ahead, I want to continue releasing new music, exploring new sounds, performing more, and growing internationally as an artist. I’m also very interested in exploring acting in the future. I feel like this is just the beginning of a very exciting new chapter!

Can you walk us through the story or emotion behind “Save Myself”?

“Save Myself” comes from a very personal place. There was a period in my life when I felt completely lost. I didn’t know what my next step should be, how to move forward, or even how to create a new life for myself. I felt like I had lost a part of who I was. I think sometimes in life, we wait for someone or something to come along and change everything for us. We hope someone will show us the right direction or somehow rescue us from a difficult situation. But I eventually realized that the person I was waiting for was actually myself. It didn’t happen overnight. Step by step, I started rebuilding my life, finding my confidence again, and reconnecting with who I really was. That’s the message behind “Save Myself.” Especially as women, we grow up with these beautiful fairytales where the princess is waiting in a tower for someone to come and save her. I wanted to turn that story around. And that’s exactly what this song is about. I hope that when people listen to it, especially those who might be going through a difficult time, they remember that they already have that strength within them. Because sometimes, the person who can change your life is you.
