TRAMA by Haddou-Dufourcq: The art of structure and light in furniture design
The TRAMA furniture collection, designed exclusively for Monde Singulier by the Paris-based duo Haddou-Dufourcq, embodies a refined synthesis of craftsmanship and contemporary vision. As a platform dedicated to collectible design, Monde Singulier curates exceptional works by renowned designers and architects, fostering a dynamic community where design is shared and celebrated.
Kim Haddou and Florent Dufourcq, both graduates of the prestigious École Camondo, have established themselves as leading voices in modern design. Their journey has been marked by significant accolades, including the Grand Prix du Jury Van Cleef & Arpels at the Design Parade Toulon in 2018, the AD x Range Rover Special Prize in 2024, and their repeated inclusion in the esteemed AD 100 selection. Their work extends beyond furniture, encompassing interior projects such as the acclaimed Lilou hotel in Hyères.
With TRAMA, their first collection for Monde Singulier, the designers articulate an aesthetic where materiality itself becomes a language. Each piece is a study in duality, balancing solidity with negative space, transforming structure into a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The collection seamlessly merges geometric rigor with classical fluidity, creating a nuanced dialogue between tradition and modernity.
This approach results in furniture that is both sculptural and functional, evoking a sense of architectural precision while maintaining an inherent poetic quality. The interplay of lines and forms generates a timeless elegance, redefining the boundaries between minimalism and ornamentation. Through TRAMA, Haddou-Dufourcq reaffirm their commitment to design as a narrative medium, where each creation tells a story of structure, movement, and emotion.
