Filip Tack introduces timeless handmade furniture in Più objects series

Essential handmade furniture by Filip Tack for timeless living

Belgian interior designer Filip Tack introduces Più objects, a series of essential furniture pieces that distill decades of design experience into physical form.

Unlike traditional furniture collections, each piece in the Più series stands independently, unified not by stylistic similarity, but by their commitment to functional integrity, longevity, and material honesty.

The designs are handcrafted, numbered, and consciously minimal, reflecting a broader ethos Tack calls “slow furniture.” This approach values time, craftsmanship, and intention over speed or trends.

Inspired by Peter Menzel’s photographic series Material World, Filip Tack was moved by the global representation of families with their most valuable possessions.

This concept sparked a new direction in his practice: designing objects that are universally essential yet deeply personal. The result is a thoughtfully curated list of objects meant to endure through generations, crafted not only to serve, but to belong.

Each object begins with a clear functional goal and evolves into a refined, tactile piece made from solid oak, either natural or black-stained. Materials are left as raw and honest as possible, reinforcing the connection between user and object. Function is never sacrificed for form; rather, both work in harmony.

Details such as recessed brass hooks, bevelled edges for grip, and concealed joints highlight Tack’s commitment to silent craftsmanship, beauty that doesn’t call attention to itself, but reveals itself over time.

Among the pieces is the ‘chll’, a low-slung one-seater with an adjustable recline made possible by a discreet removable component.

The ‘hdsk’, a paravent with wardrobe-like functionality, features an elegant brass hook that turns the divider into a place for garments, without the risk of damage.

Then there’s the ‘srvm’, a two-part side table that doubles as a tray, connected via hidden magnets or usable separately for dynamic function. These aren’t conceptual novelties, they’re usable, refined, and grounded.

Each item is designed to work seamlessly in a variety of spaces without overwhelming them. Whether placed in a modern apartment or a restored farmhouse, Più objects act as subtle anchors, giving each room a quiet sense of completion.

Filip Tack doesn’t just design for a moment in time; he designs for the continuum of living. His pieces grow with their owners, evolving in meaning and utility.
