NEKHODA™ team crafting visual narrative to communicate sneaker performance

Nike SuperRep Go 3 Flyknit film by Roman Nekhoda highlights advanced CGI artistry

The Nike SuperRep Go 3 Flyknit project by CGI director Roman Nekhoda and his studio NEKHODA™ demonstrates a refined understanding of motion, material, and brand identity.

Produced within one month using only a physical sample of the shoe as a starting point, the film communicates Nike’s technological precision while connecting emotionally with viewers.

Roman Nekhoda chose the unique properties of Flyknit material as the foundation of the narrative, emphasizing texture and movement to suggest responsiveness and flexibility without relying on traditional running imagery.

The visual direction integrates a dark CrossFit-inspired environment with sophisticated color gradients aligned with Nike’s design language. This aesthetic balance reinforces the sneaker’s stability and energy, giving the product a contemporary identity suited to multiple platforms.

To create the detailed sneaker model, the team used 3D scanning to capture the physical sample before refining every curve and contour through photorealistic sculpting and texturing.

The process ensured that even close-up macro shots could reveal the shoe’s craftsmanship and engineering.

Houdini played a central role in achieving fluid movement and material simulation. Guided by Roman Nekhoda’s conceptual framework, the team built a library of simulations that accurately represented the knit’s behavior under motion.

To heighten realism, Nekhoda developed a custom shader using normal and displacement mapping, which defined the tactile quality of the film.

This technical precision allowed the sneaker to appear both structurally robust and visually dynamic, translating performance features into an engaging digital narrative.

The production also incorporated Vellum for advanced simulations and FEM/soft-body tests to demonstrate sole compression. These elements conveyed the shoe’s support and flexibility in a way that resonated with CrossFit athletes and design enthusiasts alike.

Every component, including dynamic typography and UI elements created in After Effects, was carefully directed to integrate seamlessly with the environment rather than distract from the sneaker itself.

The final film represents a balance between engineering and emotional resonance. Its combination of realistic detail and expressive movement presents the SuperRep Go 3 Flyknit as a versatile product designed for demanding workouts yet appealing to a wide audience.

The campaign’s release across social media, TV, and retail platforms achieved significant reach, reinforcing Nike’s reputation for visually compelling and high-performing marketing strategies.
