Adizero EVO SL Mars by adidas and Humanrace focuses on mindful running
adidas and Humanrace introduce the Adizero EVO SL ‘Mars’ and matching apparel as a footwear and clothing release designed to connect performance, wellness, and everyday movement through a design-led approach. Developed as part of the ongoing collaboration between adidas and Pharrell Williams’ Humanrace, the project brings together technical running innovation and a broader cultural narrative that positions movement as a purposeful daily practice.
The ‘Mars’ colorway draws from the tonal qualities of the red planet, translating extraterrestrial references into a grounded visual identity. This direction is reinforced through a campaign filmed in Oregon’s Painted Hills, where layered geological formations echo the textures and hues associated with Martian terrain. The setting supports a narrative in which running becomes an intentional act, linking physical effort with clarity, energy, and renewal.
At the center of the release is the Humanrace Adizero EVO SL, a silhouette informed by the performance lineage of the Adios Pro EVO 1 while adapted for daily use. The shoe incorporates a full-length LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam midsole, delivering a high-stack and responsive ride without relying on rigid plate elements. This construction allows for fluid transitions and a more natural running experience, aligning with the concept of movement as a continuous and accessible ritual.
The engineered mesh upper is designed with targeted zones that enhance breathability and support, responding to the needs of runners across varied conditions. This technical configuration ensures comfort over extended wear, while maintaining a lightweight structure that supports both performance and everyday versatility. The overall design reflects a balance between elite running references and practical usability.
Accompanying the Adizero EVO SL, the ‘Mars’ apparel selection extends the concept into a complete system of movement. The track jacket is shaped with a slightly tailored fit, offering mobility while maintaining structure, and includes an adjustable hem for adaptability. The shorts are cut at mid-thigh length with a loose, breathable construction, supporting comfort during outdoor activity and aligning with the collection’s emphasis on ease and functionality.
