Amiture Music and Eliana Glass’s “Idela” builds its own logic from fragments that never settle into a single scene. “I know everyone wants to kill me” opens with a blunt threat, then the lyrics jump through a living room, a birthplace, an encore, and a man dying on a hillside.
That same movement gives the song its stranger moments. “You rake away the leaves / You’re oldening your age / You’re idle” turns an ordinary gesture into something harder to place, while “Exhaust is on my legs” brings the body into the middle of the confusion. The repeated “Over the hill open your eyes over” sounds less like an explanation than an instruction that keeps getting caught on itself. Eliana Glass wrote the lyrics from associations that came from Amiture Music’s instrumental, and the words retain that first-contact quality.
The video began from a woman swimming in an indoor pool, with Amiture Music and Glass working backwards from that image. That choice gives the song another physical space without closing down the words. A small camera can stay close to a body underwater, in a room, or somewhere just beyond the frame. “Idela” keeps moving between those places, never quite telling us which one to trust.
