Costantino Gucci debuts solo exhibition Self Reflections at Movimento Gallery

Costantino Gucci presents his debut solo exhibition Self Reflections at Movimento Gallery, on view from 26 September to 3 October 2025. The exhibition represents a turning point in the artist’s practice, drawing together ten significant works that expand his language into sculptural and functional form.

Known for his experimental approach to materiality, Gucci now introduces his first three-dimensional furniture pieces alongside new wall-based works, creating an immersive dialogue between object, space, and viewer.

Self Reflections revolves around the idea of perception and identity as mutable conditions. Reflection, for Costantino Gucci, is not a fixed surface but a shifting encounter between light, architecture, and gaze.

His compositions refuse to remain static; instead, they transform in relation to the movement of the viewer and the architecture that frames them. Each piece demands participation, becoming activated by proximity, angles of vision, and the subtle transitions of natural and artificial light.

Glass and mirror dominate the exhibition, treated not as neutral materials but as active agents of transformation. By layering transparent and mirrored surfaces with pigment and ink, Gucci achieves fluctuating effects that generate depth and chromatic resonance.

Surfaces ripple like liquid, their distorted reflections recalling the instability of memory and the fluidity of identity. This attention to transience positions the mirror not as an object of vanity but as a perceptual device capable of expanding spatial awareness.

Among the most significant works are Oculus Celestia, Portal Lim, Portal Horizon, Portal Solaris, and Portal 0. Each continues Gucci’s exploration into thresholds and transitional states, using monumental geometry and subtle gradients to shift perception.

The works oscillate between opacity and transparency, monumental stillness and ephemeral change. Their solemn structures anchor the space while simultaneously dissolving into the fluid play of reflection.

Alongside these mirrored interventions, the exhibition introduces Ilior, a series of sculptural tables that extend Costantino Gucci’s experimentation into functional objects.

Here, reflection becomes structural, animating surfaces where geometry and perception meet. These works suggest a new trajectory in his practice, advancing toward the intersection of art and design.
