Introduction
I make furniture out of bending cylinders. In doing so, I meet with the standardness of functionality through forms that by their nature deviate from standard.
I use the width of my thigh as the basis for the cylinders to warm the abstraction of the work
Studies
I did my undergrad at the University of California Irvine in Sociology with a focus on gender and sexuality, and then grad school in 3D Design at Cranbrook.
Working Process
I play with cylindrical materials, which have their own strengths and limits. My process is essentially exploring within that space.Â
Material
I use industrial rubber tubing, steel, foam, and wool.
Inspiration
Fluidity, which is essentially queer ingenuity.
What are you working on lately?
I’m making a sofa, the design of which utilizes the algorithmic aspect of my chair forms.
