In this project, I focused on two essential aspects – the cycle of materials used in the building process and the representation of ‘Primitive Structures‘ based on my cultural and historical background.
The word ‘Primitive‘ in the project’s title is derived from the research of PSL materials used. The texture of PSL evokes a primitive feeling, representing patterns that can be found in nature, such as the veins of a leaf or tiger camo. Hence, I chose the title ‘Primitive’ to represent the texture of the PSL material.
The second word in the project’s title is ‘Structures,’ which refers to the original use of PSL as a structural material for framing architecture. Consequently, architectural motifs were extensively used in the project.
Overall, my project aimed to explore the primitive structures used in the building process through my cultural and historical background.
