EZHK’s “Places” is pure club sound with its focus set on the physical movement flueled by the groove, with a steady four-to-the-floor kick and syncopated hi-hats pushing the track forward. A short snare lands on the second and fourth beats, while ghost clicks and muted claps fill some of the gaps without taking over.
The bass gives a deep sub-tone and a more resonant growl, giving weight to the rhythm. The metallic tezture of the synth stab every four bars and a warm pad moves underneath, while a higher arpeggiated synth adds short notes around the main pulse. The track keeps its different colors close together. The percussion stays precise, the bass gives it weight, and the synths add colder and warmer tones without breaking the groove. “Places” leaves enough space between those elements for each one to register.
