Island Wastrel’s “We Were Looking for Someone More Youthful” is a feverish, poetic outburst, part modern lament, part surreal satire. Its lyrics blur the line between chaos and confession, as the narrator shifts from manic energy to quiet despair. The track mirrors that volatility, with frantic rhythm and eerie calm, creating an atmosphere that feels both electric and exhausted. Island Wastrel captures the absurd beauty of ageing in a world obsessed with reinvention.
