Working with a startup approach but with great support from headquarters on marketing, infrastructure, the know-how and the network - getting the best of both worlds :) We have complete creative independence to build a unique DNA and identify our own niche. Our first product is about to be launched!

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and design game UI including HUD + GUI elements, boot sequences, loading screens and menus;
  • Implement UI assets/layouts directly in Unity 3D
  • Work with UX Designer to determine UI functionality and characteristics and translate high-level gameplay ideas into visually functional UI designs;
  • Ensure that game information is well conveyed through the various user interfaces;
  • Work closely with the programming team to implement game assets and verify the quality of graphics once implemented.
  • Maintain control of asset production, adhering to technical constraints and optimization guidelines;
  • Present ideas and concepts internally to the team.

Skills and Requirements:

  • 3+ years of gaming industry experience, specializing in interface creation and menu design;
  • Expert in Unity 3D UI tools and best practices;
  • Expert in Photoshop, After Effects;
  • Excellent graphic design skills (design, layout, typography);
  • Ability to design and implement a user interface to improve the ergonomic quality of the game;
  • Familiar with industry game engines and prototyping workflows;
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of 2D animations for UI;
  • Ability to implement assets into the engine;
  • Knowledge of Unity VFX tools.

Job Details

As a senior VFX artist on the team, you will be required to work daily alongside designers, other artists, programmers and producers, conceptualizing and creating a wide range of visual effects for our games that achieve the goals of production and quality set for the project. You will also work closely with the Senior Visual Effects Artist to define the style and quality standard of the games.

You will need to estimate timelines for your tasks in advance and provide milestones as part of the development process. You must be able to show creative leadership to the VFX team, inspiring them to work to their best and take pride in what they invent.

Role You Play:

  • Responsible for conceptualizing and creating a wide range of visual effects for the game, in line with the game design and vision.
  • Creation of high-quality game-specific and cinematic visual effects using an in-house editor and bundled packages (Maya and Photoshop).
  • Liaise with build artists and code regarding placement and triggering of gameplay specific visual effects.
  • Communicate any game design risks or concerns that impact the schedule.
  • Work with the VFX Manager and Art Director to ensure consistency between the vision and the implementation of effects.
  • Work closely with other departments on large effect levels to balance frame rate.
  • Make sure the job/level meets all memory and frame rate guides/restrictions for all required platforms.
  • Understand that changes and amendments are part of the pipeline.
  • Responsible for planning and prioritizing assigned workload within given deadlines.
  • Attend meetings to note VFX requirements in conjunction with Level Director
  • Help mentor other VFX artists and lead by example.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Outstanding portfolio demonstrating VFX work.
  • Demonstrable production experience as a VFX artist in the games industry, preferably on console titles.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Good working knowledge and proficiency in a 3D application, preferably Maya.
  • Strong Photoshop editing skills to create texture effects for use with particle systems.
  • Advanced skills in software used in game development (e.g. UE4, Unity).
  • Thorough knowledge of major visual effects and a good sense of timing and staging.
  • Understanding of shaders and rendering pipeline as it relates to visual effects.
  • Practical and methodical approach to solving technical and creative problems.
  • Experience with a scripting language would be a big plus.

Job Details

The Rigging Artist will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a rigging pipeline for characters, vehicles, and props. They will collaborate with the animation and modeling teams to create rigs that will help bring the artistic vision of the project to life while meeting the technical and performance requirements set by the Technical Art Director. They will also develop tools to support and improve modeling and animation workflows. The rigging artist must be forward-thinking and experienced in Unreal Engine's animation and rigging tools. They will create and maintain in-engine rigging solutions to improve warping and facilitate retargeting and sharing of real-time animations.

Skills and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Bring innovation to dynamic art pipelines through platforms, secondary movements, tools and workflows.
  • Build and maintain body and face rigs, skinning and secondary movement setup.
  • Help build proprietary systems for export constraints, custom deformers, secondary motion, and motion capture to the game engine.
  • Work with other technical artists to improve workflows and tools used internally by the rigging team
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments such as Tools and Code (engine) teams to improve creative workflows and run animation/graphics systems.
  • Work skillfully with the team's organization, documentation, and rigging mod libraries that can be shared by a large team of riggers.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology/research in the field to help keep our dynamic art visuals on the cutting edge of movement and deformation.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience building complex rigs for games or cinematic/visual effects.
  • Strong coding/scripting skills in Python, Mel or C++ and a background in 3D math
  • Unreal Engine 4 experience (at least 1 title delivered).
  • Experience with data-centric rigging and mGear
  • Understanding of the human body and facial anatomy as it relates to game assets and topology.
  • Experience with 3D DCC software (Motionbuilder and/or Maya preferred).
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to think outside the box.
  • Strong communication, self-management and organizational skills.
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines and milestones.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Own and contribute to the long-term vision of tech art and art sustainability across Apex

Base salary is only part of the overall compensation package at EA.
