Kazimi’s “Errant Nodes” pushes the Manchester duo’s mix of jazz and dance music toward the club, with synths taking the lead and a strong melodic hook holding the track together. Tom Chapman and Jon Needham have made their most electronic release to date, but their interest in complex structures still shapes the music.
The duo describe starting with a single idea and pulling more out of it until the track could move through different moods and dynamics without losing its direction. That process matters here: the music has room to change course while keeping its dancefloor drive. The composition gives Kazimi space to explore, rather than locking them into one groove from start to finish.
After “Storming Jupiter” and “Mauve Coconut,” the single marks another step toward Kazimi’s debut EP, due in early 2027. Their background in jazz comes through in the way they build and reshape musical ideas, but “Errant Nodes” keeps its focus on movement. The track aims for the dancefloor without leaving its more adventurous instincts behind.
