The unveiling of the King Salman Stadium and Masterplan by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Ministry of Sports marks a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to position itself as a global hub for sports and entertainment. Designed by Populous, this state-of-the-art stadium will become the largest-capacity venue in Saudi Arabia and one of the most prominent sports facilities worldwide, scheduled for completion in late 2029. Serving as the headquarters for the Saudi Arabia national football team, it will also host major national and international events, reinforcing the kingdom’s commitment to fostering sports at all levels.
Strategically located in northern Riyadh, near King Abdulaziz Park, the masterplan of King Salman Stadium reflects an innovative blend of nature-inspired design and cutting-edge infrastructure. Drawing inspiration from Saudi Arabia’s natural landscapes, the concept revolves around the symbolism of seeds germinating and growing, embodying the kingdom’s dedication to nurturing sports participation. With a seating capacity exceeding 92,000, the stadium will include premium amenities such as a Royal Box, hospitality lounges, skyboxes, and dedicated VIP and VVIP sections. Spectators will enjoy features like internal screens, rooftop gardens, and a walking path offering panoramic views.

These include training fields, fan zones, an Olympic-sized aquatics center, and an athletics stadium.
