Lasvit debuts captivating glass installation at Euroluce 2025

Martin Gallo designs an artistic glass lighting piece for Lasvit that evokes water in motion

During Salone del Mobile, Euroluce 2025, Lasvit presented Soaked in Light, an exhibition that redefines the boundaries of light, glass, and emotional design. At the center of this showcase is Splash, a captivating new lighting installation by Lasvit designer Martin Gallo. This immersive piece is not only a celebration of glass artistry but a sensorial journey through the emotional essence of water and its relationship with human well-being.

Drawing on emerging wellness research, Splash reflects the calming influence of water on the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps regulate stress and induce states of relaxation. Gallo’s vision transforms this scientific insight into a visceral experience of calm and contemplation. By combining fused glass with dynamic lighting, the installation mimics the texture, rhythm, and mood of water—from the placid surface of a tranquil lake to the jubilant energy of rain-splashed puddles and the raw force of a cascading river.

The design of Splash is intentionally fluid. No two viewing angles are the same, and the light refracts differently depending on time of day and viewer position, mirroring the constantly shifting nature of water. This unpredictability captures the ephemeral beauty of a droplet mid-splash, as well as the deeper emotional resonance water carries—memories of play, serenity, and renewal.

Lasvit’s technical mastery in glassmaking enables this vision to materialize with precision and elegance. Each component of Splash is handcrafted, allowing for natural imperfections that further emphasize the organic essence of the piece. The interplay of light and molten glass forms a meditative atmosphere, enveloping viewers in a sense of mindful presence. The installation becomes more than an object; it is an emotional landscape that invites reflection.

Gallo’s artistic intent is clear. He seeks to communicate not only the visual dynamism of water, but also its ability to hold contradiction—stillness and momentum, clarity and distortion. “With Splash, I wanted to capture the emotional imprint of water,” he explains. “Glass has a similar character. It can be sharp or soft, transparent or opaque, still or alive. This installation celebrates those moments of transformation.”

Lasvit’s return to Euroluce with its largest stand yet underscores its role as a leader in experiential design. Soaked in Light is not just an exhibition—it is an embodiment of sensory connection, artistic storytelling, and the profound impact of natural elements on human emotion. Through Splash, Lasvit once again affirms its commitment to crafting works that transcend function and become conduits of feeling, memory, and light.
