NOIA’s “As Per My Last Email” makes burnout audible through the language we use to pretend we are functioning. “I havent been able to focus” keeps returning between “take this offline,” “move the needle,” and “get my ducks in a row,” until the office vocabulary starts to sound absurd against the speaker’s inability to keep going. The joke is not in mocking corporate speech. It is in hearing someone use it while admitting, again and again, that they cannot focus.
She piles up these borrowed phrases without giving the speaker a way out. “My bandwidth has ran out of juice” turns exhaustion into another piece of workplace jargon, while “im available all night all day every day” pushes the promise of constant availability to its breaking point. There is no heroic collapse here. She speaker keeps answering, keeps circling back, keeps offering the same polite assurances while admitting that nothing is getting done.
Then comes “it was very nice to e-meet you.” After everything that came before, the sentence sounds almost automatic, the kind of courtesy that survives even when the person behind it has nothing left to give. NOIA does not need to explain the joke. The email has already sent itself.
