NOS by Sooa Choi: Innovative Sustainable Tableware Utilizing Walnut Shells

Contemporary hillside house with infinity pool overlooking lush green forest at night.

NOS by Sooa Choi is an innovative solution in tableware, employing 100% natural materials like walnut shells, pine resin, and Canauva Powder to create a sustainable CMF (Color, Material, Finish). The unique process involves grinding walnut shells into varied sizes, offering a diverse range of colors, patterns, and light transmission. This eco-friendly material, predominantly bonded by pine resin, promotes long-term use.

When walnut shells are separated from their kernels, they lose their primary function. Typically considered food waste, these shells contribute to resource wastage and environmental pollution. Yet, their composition closely resembles that of wood, making them ideal for everyday use.

Their dry and rigid nature renders them resilient to insect penetration, even through minute holes, and they possess the added advantage of being nearly odorless. NOS aims to transform what is often disregarded into a valuable and sustainable resource, supporting a cleaner and more efficient utilization of materials for everyday items.
