Oakley’s Iconic Eyewear
Since its establishment in 1975, Oakley has risen to prominence as a premier brand in sports equipment gear. Over the years, the company has produced an array of noteworthy eyewear, with some iconic styles associated with legendary figures like Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman. Among these, the MUZM Mars X-Metal Leather stands out, and now, after a quarter-century hiatus, it is making a triumphant comeback.
Originally unveiled in 1998, the MUZM Mars X-Metal Leather was a collaborative effort with basketball legend Michael Jordan, contributing to its timeless appeal. The revived design retains the distinctive X-Metal alloy frame, elevated by the incorporation of rich brown leather seamlessly integrated into the frame. Enhancing the overall aesthetic are the sunglasses’ Prizm 24K lenses, casting a warm and vibrant glow.
Oakley’s commitment to innovation is evident in the resurrection of this iconic silhouette. The eyewear is recreated using a cutting-edge direct metal laser sintering 3D-printing process. This technique involves melting down X-Metal powder, resulting in new and intricately structured forms. Notably, Oakley has been at the forefront of avant-garde collaborations, as seen recently with their partnership with Brain Dead, introducing a collection of futuristic eyewear and footwear.
The limited-edition MUZM Mars X-Metal Leather glasses by Oakley are set to make their return on Tuesday, November 14. Enthusiasts can acquire these exclusive eyewear pieces at Oakley flagship stores, through Oakley’s official website, and at select retailers.
