Paige Warner has a talent macerated on good taste, and “Stockholm Syndrome” shows that. The song has, besides her emotional and skilled interpretation, a well-played instrumental section. The lyric describes a relationship where an intoxicating influence of the other person makes the toxicity and mistreatment feel like love. She feels like being at the mercy of the other person, metaphorically at their feet. Throughout, the song highlights her realization that they have become entangled in a psychologically manipulative and abusive dynamic. But, maybe for luck but surely for psychological growth, there´s a way out through art.
