Handmade credenza showcases Project 213A focus on traditional craftsmanship
Project 213A has emerged as a contemporary European design house with a strong dedication to craftsmanship and longevity in furniture making. Founded in 2021 by Jurgita Dileviciute, Theresa Marx, and Clement Deboeuf, the brand represents a collaboration between diverse backgrounds in design and finance, united by a shared vision. The company’s name references a London address where the founders once lived during their studies, symbolizing both personal history and collective creativity.

The Douro Credenza, designed in 2023, exemplifies the brand’s approach to timeless furniture design. Handmade by skilled artisans, the piece is constructed from solid oak and carefully detailed with hand-carved textures on both its handles and legs. The credenza features two sets of double doors and internal shelving that can be tailored to bespoke dimensions, reflecting Project 213A’s focus on adaptability and client-centered production. As oak is a natural material, variations in tone and texture may occur, adding individuality to each item and ensuring no two pieces are ever identical.

Project 213A stands out for its commitment to local European production, with workshops in ceramics and wood supported by experienced artisans in Northern Portugal. This connection to Portuguese heritage plays a significant role in the brand’s design philosophy. By naming collections after Portuguese cities and regions, Project 213A emphasizes cultural storytelling while also acknowledging the craftsmanship traditions that inspire their work.

The founders’ backgrounds have had a direct influence on the company’s ethos. Jurgita and Theresa, trained in fashion and footwear design at the University of the Arts London, bring a refined understanding of form and detail, while Clement, with his financial expertise, contributes structure and strategy to the business. Their combined experience has allowed them to create a brand that values artistry and durability over temporary trends.
