Cartography of the Ray: A luminous dialogue between matter and digital perception
Radiante Light Art Studio introduces Cartography of the Ray, a new laser light installation that transcends the boundaries between material and digital dimensions. Conceived as both a physical and virtual sculpture, the work positions light as an autonomous entity within a mirrored architectural system. Inside this reflective structure, a laser beam moves with surgical precision, caught in perpetual motion as it rebounds between the surfaces. These continuous reflections create a choreography of luminous lines that build intricate geometries suspended in space.
The repetition of the beam’s journey inside the form generates sequences of light that seem infinite, despite their finite support. This repetition transforms the structure into a vessel of visual energy, where time becomes a visible phenomenon. Each reflection becomes part of an evolving topography, tracing ephemeral routes that exist only in the instant of observation. Through this dialogue of containment and expansion, Cartography of the Ray redefines the idea of spatial perception as a living, dynamic system.

Parallel to its physical operation, the Cartography of the Ray produces a real-time digital interpretation. The inner mechanics of the light’s trajectory are captured by sensors and computationally translated into an evolving virtual image.
This digital replica is not a mere representation but an active participant in the work, mirroring and amplifying the continuous transformation occurring inside the sculpture. The simultaneous existence of these two realities—the tangible and the simulated—raises questions about perception, presence, and the coexistence of analog and virtual environments in contemporary art.

Under the artistic direction of Manuel Conde, Radiante Light Art Studio positions itself at the intersection of art, science, and technology. Its research-oriented practice examines how light, color, and shadow construct human perception and how these phenomena influence emotional and cognitive responses. The studio’s methodology is based on empirical experimentation and phenomenological study, with light and sound operating as vehicles of spatial awareness and altered perception.
Radiante’s work expands beyond traditional gallery settings, using architecture and public space as active components of its artistic language. The studio’s installations engage with urban and natural contexts alike, creating immersive experiences that connect audiences with the intangible behavior of light. Through Cartography of the Ray, Radiante continues its pursuit of understanding light not merely as a medium of visibility but as a profound expression of consciousness and spatial dialogue.
