Robert Ascroft’s “Echo Still Remains” album, featuring the track “Dorian Gray” with Ora Cogan, is a masterful blend of cinematic storytelling and collaborative artistry. Ascroft’s background as a Hollywood photographer and director generates visual soundscapes to evoke the atmospheric allure of filmmakers like Wim Wenders or David Lynch. “Dorian Gray” dives into vanity, identity, and the passage of time, inspired by Oscar Wilde’s iconic character.
