Sometimes a song begins as nothing more than a fragment, a placeholder, a name on a file. For Rory Alcantar, that word was “Portugal”. Strummed into his phone in 2017 from a cramped room behind his grandmother’s garage in LA, the melody sat quietly, waiting for its moment. A year later, life caught up with the title. Rory found himself actually in Portugal, carried by a European adventure, surrounded by coastal cliffs, ocean light, and a culture that turned that rough sketch into something living. “Portugal” is a travelogue and personal journal entry, a reminder that freedom often arrives when you least expect it.
