Simmering with longing and layered memories, “4th of July” by Brooklyn’s S.C.A.B, deals with the bittersweet emotional haze that clings to fleeting moments of connection. The track balances romantic yearning with an undercurrent of catharsis. Lo-fi textures and a dreamy post-punk delivery give the song a nostalgic, cinematic feel: as if reliving a summer that meant more than you realised at the time. It’s about pulling back just far enough to see clearly, and discovering you’re still alive in the aftermath.
