SIN launches OBEL and STRIA ceramic lighting collections at ICFF 2025

Debuting at ICFF 2025, SIN introduces two new ceramic lighting collections, OBEL and STRIA, marking a significant expansion of its design portfolio.

Crafted in the brand’s Brooklyn studio, these new offerings carry the legacy of time-honored techniques while embodying a quiet, modern elegance tailored for today’s high-end residential and hospitality interiors.

Each piece reflects the studio’s commitment to slow design, where every detail is considered and every form emerges through a process of thoughtful making.

OBEL pays homage to ancient obelisks, interpreting their monumental form through hand-built ceramic table lamps. Drawing from sacred architectural traditions, OBEL reimagines those forms with soft diffusion and tactile depth.

The introduction of a shaded design in this collection represents a new direction for SIN, offering a diffused glow that reinforces the intimate atmosphere its lighting has come to evoke.

Through this quiet interplay of geometry and light, OBEL creates a calming presence in contemporary interiors, where the past and present gently converge.

STRIA is equally grounded in history, inspired by the subtle complexity of hand-weaving. Ceramic sconces in the collection translate the striated patterns of textiles into rhythmic surfaces that engage with both shadow and light.

Every piece is shaped by hand, bringing the spirit of weaving into a new, dimensional medium. These sconces meet ADA standards, blending utility with visual nuance.

The design lends itself to diverse applications, from serene bedrooms to expansive public spaces, where handcrafted detail and minimalist form coexist.

Complementing OBEL and STRIA, SIN also expands its GAMI series, adding a pendant, a flush mount, and a wall sconce.

The GAMI collection is rooted in the transformation of material, where sheets of clay are folded like paper, echoing the discipline of origami.

Each new form deepens the collection’s ability to adapt across spaces, reinforcing its expressive, sculptural language.

These releases signal a refined chapter for SIN, where ceramics move beyond function to embody a sense of presence and meaning. The collections channel ancient methods through a contemporary lens, connecting human hands, material memory, and light.

Designed by Virginia Sin, the studio’s founder and creative director, each piece carries a narrative of care—of techniques passed through generations and reimagined through present-day design.

SIN continues to shape a modern heritage brand where craft is not only visible but felt, offering lasting objects for spaces that prioritize warmth, depth, and intention.
