Skateland’s “PLAYTHEDRUMS” is a club track built around one simple instruction: forget everything else and dance. Written after a Boiler Room set made him rethink what was missing from his Ultra Kitsch EP, it comes from a clear desire to make something for the dancefloor. The title says it all. This is about getting people moving, not giving them another thing to think about.
The idea is to leave your problems at the door, put your phone on Do Not Disturb, grab your friends, and let the DJ take over. Skateland draws on his Las Vegas roots and his renewed interest in clubbing since moving to New York. The track comes from that familiar moment when the night takes over and nobody needs to check what is happening outside. There is no complicated message here, and it doesn’t need one. “PLAYTHEDRUMS” makes room for the kind of night where dancing is enough. The phone can wait.
