The Serenity House
The Serenity House, Designed by Fatemeh Abedi, is an architectural marvel that epitomizes the seamless blend of nature and modernism. Inspired by the timeless principles of Le Corbusier and executed with a minimalist ethos, this concrete house hovers elegantly over a tranquil body of water, creating a harmonious dialogue between the built environment and the natural landscape.
The Serenity House captures the essence of Le Corbusier’s vision, embracing functionality, simplicity, and purity of form. The house features a series of interlocking concrete planes that appear to float effortlessly above the water’s surface. This design choice not only creates a striking visual impact but also establishes a serene and contemplative living space, removed from the chaos of urban life.
The primary construction material is high-strength, prefabricated concrete, chosen for its durability and minimalist aesthetic. The clean lines and smooth surfaces of the concrete enhance the house’s modern appeal.
The house is ingeniously supported by slender, hidden pylons, giving the illusion of floating above the water. This design minimizes the impact on the natural surroundings and maximizes the sense of tranquility.
The interior spaces are characterized by open floor plans, large expanses of glass, and a neutral color palette. The use of glass walls not only floods the interiors with natural light but also provides unobstructed views of the surrounding water and landscape. The design incorporates sustainable elements such as passive solar heating, natural ventilation, and a rainwater harvesting system, ensuring an eco-friendly footprint.
