In their first step toward a bold new artistic chapter, Veronika ChiChi and Dmitrij Golovanov breathe contemporary soul into one of Lithuania’s most cherished folk songs. “Beauštanti aušrelė” unfolds like a dawn ritual: the vocalist’s earthy timbre carrying the weight of ancestral memory, while the pianist threads modern jazz harmonies through centuries-old imagery. The result feels both intimate and cinematic: a quiet morning turning into a revelation. This release marks the opening movement of a larger, year-long project where the duo reimagines Lithuanian folklore with jazz curiosity and emotional precision. More singles will follow, each expanding the bridge between past and present, until the full album arrives.
