Vietra: Moment

Vietra: Moment

Vietra’s “Moment” is a romance that was already ending before it registered as one. Two people in a brief collision, the kind that leaves no evidence except the specific weight of having been inside something that was never going to stay.

What the track holds is the gap between experience and understanding, the moment recognized only after it has passed. The temporary nature of the encounter isn’t the tragedy. The delay is: the realization arriving after the dream has already closed, when there’s nothing left to do with the information. “Moment” doesn’t mourn the romance so much as the misreading of it. Two people who collided without knowing what they were colliding inside. By the time the shape of it becomes clear, Vietra has already moved the song somewhere else, the dream ended, the waking state the only place left to be.
