Yonca Karakaş is a young rising artist who lives and works actually in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied photography and video art at Yıldız Technical University. During her artistic career, she exhibited her artworks in the art fair and actually she is represented by Pg Art Gallery.
Being inspired by dreams, the artist loves creating stories of our everyday life in alternative universes. The main themes in Karakaş works are collected from the context of history, religion, and psychology. Through an accurate arrangement of the entire scenes, she stimulates and manipulates the viewer’s perception of reality. She uses in her photography strange creatures, daily objects and characters all placed in surreal imagery.
