For ZDAN, “save me (rock n roll)” is deeply personal. As a Canadian-born artist raising a daughter in the United States, the overturning of Roe v. Wade reframed the fight: no longer about her alone, but about her child’s future: the right to love freely, to choose, to live without fear. The track channels the weight of gender disparities in the music industry, mounting attacks on LGBTQ+ rights, and the erosion of reproductive freedoms into a firestorm of sound and defiance.
