Movimento Gallery presents collectible design at Fine Comune in Como
Movimento Gallery joins Lake Como Design Festival 2026 with a presentation of collectible design inside Fine Comune: the boundary as a meeting space. The group exhibition, organised by Lobby Nomade, takes place at the former Church of Santa Caterina in Como. On view from 12 to 27 September 2026, the exhibition brings galleries and design brands together under the creative direction of Ultrapresent Studio. Movimento Gallery presents work by international designers alongside contributions from Lia Rumma Gallery, artist Luca Monterastelli, Acerbis and cc-tapis.
Fine Comune takes its title from the Latin idea of con-finis, referring to a shared limit where one territory meets another. The exhibition considers the boundary as a point of contact, bringing different disciplines, materials and perspectives into the same space. Inside the former church, the works respond to the existing architecture and to the movement of visitors through it. Movimento Gallery approaches the theme through collectible design pieces that sit between function and artistic expression, traditional techniques and contemporary production.
The selection includes furniture, mirrors and smaller objects by international designers. Chris Shao’s Good for Business armchair examines the relationship between work and leisure through an enveloping form centred on comfort. CARA\DAVIDE’s Broca side table and TIPSTUDIO’s Secondo Fuoco floor mirror draw attention to their production processes, keeping traces of material transformation visible in the final objects. Studio F’s STL24_01 stool and Artefatto’s CVX console connect references from the past with contemporary construction, while Federica Elmo’s Febe stool brings together rough and smooth surfaces as well as natural and artificial qualities.
A further group of works develops the exhibition’s theme through perception, reflection and the way materials alter the viewer’s reading of an object and its surroundings. Costantino Gucci’s Illior I & II use glass and mirror to shift the viewer’s reading of the object and its surrounding space. Neemesi’s 11.07 Red coffee table works through colour, surface and geometry, questioning how familiar forms are perceived. Maximiliano Crovato’s T Cores consists of three stools informed by the Moroccan desert landscape, with variations in colour giving closely related forms different identities. In these pieces, colour and material play an active role in how each object is understood.
Wood provides another connection between works by Kajsa Willner and Elakform. Their approaches differ, but colour becomes a shared point of reference across Willner’s Crafted Potential Wine, Surrender Off-White and Surrender Orange, and Elakform’s LoveSeat and Beastly Heart Stool. Henry Baumann’s Boo Honey stool and Atelier Sohn’s Swell armchair introduce a different type of contrast, working with inflated and deflated volumes, solidity and softness, and the tension between visual appearance and physical structure.
Founded in Milan in 2020, Movimento Gallery focuses on collectible design through a curatorial approach that combines research, experimentation and functionality. The gallery works with designers and artists from development through distribution, supporting objects where technique, material and use remain closely connected. At Fine Comune, this approach is presented through works that test physical, visual and conceptual boundaries, placing contemporary design in direct dialogue with the architecture of the former Church of Santa Caterina and with the public moving through it.
