Tara Lily makes “Break The Motion” sound suspended between movement and interruption, using a slow-burning blend of spectral jazz, alternative R&B and fractured electronica to resist a clean forward motion. The song sits within the wider movement of Last Flight Out, where travel, freedom, immigration and love meet without settling into one direction.
That sense of movement also carries Tara Lily’s British-Bengali perspective into the music. Her work draws from alternative R&B, electronica, jazz and Indian classical music, while the project brings tabla, sitar and jazz saxophone into the same frame. Rather than treating those elements as separate references, “Break The Motion” belongs to a project built around their movement between East and West. “Break The Motion” stays between departure and the moment before it.
