Grabbitz’s “Magic” uses a question about disappearing as the starting point for a melodic bass track. “If I vanish, would you know?” The line returns throughout the song, followed by “Now you see me, now you don’t.” The trick has no reveal. The speaker keeps asking if anyone would notice their absence.
The lyrics offer no reason for this fear. The same words repeat until they become the whole message. “Just like magic, all alone” links disappearance with loneliness, while the back-and-forth between being seen and gone leaves the question open. At 152 BPM, the track starts with a soft passage before two large drops change its scale. The music grows, but the words stay the same. Even with all that sound around them, the question remains: if it´s vanished, would anyone know?
