Eli Brown: Badman Riddim

Eli Brown: Badman Riddim

Eli Brown’s “Badman Riddim” builds its club appeal around a heavy, steady groove with enough changes to keep the floor moving. The kick sets the pace while syncopated hi-hats and low percussion fill the gaps. Small drum fills break up the pattern without taking away its drive.

The synth work stays close to the rhythm. Filtered stabs bring a metallic edge, while a thin arpeggiated figure adds movement above the bass. The low end does most of the work, with the bass and kick locked together to give the track its punch. Nothing here needs a big melodic hook to hold attention. Brown keeps the arrangement focused on momentum. The details shift around the central beat, but the groove never loses its direction. “Badman Riddim” is built for a loud system and a dancefloor that wants the drums to keep coming.
