Tom Ducarouge crafts Jury Tables for the LVMH Prize in Paris
Tom Ducarouge’s Jury Tables for the 2025 LVMH Prize represent a refined statement in material integrity and spatial precision.
Commissioned for one of fashion’s most influential platforms, the design reinterprets LVMH’s iconic star as a structural framework articulated through negative space.
Rather than applying the motif decoratively, Ducarouge embeds it into the tables’ architecture, allowing voids and solids to define geometry and function simultaneously.

Produced by Bureau Betak, internationally recognized for immersive scenography, and crafted by Atelier Hephaistos, renowned for exacting fabrication, the project bridges ephemeral event staging with enduring craftsmanship.
Each table is meticulously angled and proportioned so the star shape becomes perceptible without direct representation.
The resulting forms carry a sense of permanence that contrasts with the transient nature of fashion events, reinforcing LVMH’s emphasis on legacy and innovation.

Material selection was deliberately restrained to emphasize durability and visual clarity. Surfaces are finished to enhance texture and longevity while remaining subtle under ambient light.
The negative cut-outs are carefully balanced—large enough to register the star’s identity yet compact enough to provide robust structural support.
This equilibrium ensures the tables perform reliably during the high-profile jury sessions while maintaining their sculptural presence.

The design’s interplay of light and shadow creates an experience that oscillates between recognition and abstraction. Viewers discern the star through the silhouette or through the way illumination traces its edges, generating a quiet resonance within the room.
In a jury setting, where emerging designers are evaluated, the tables act as silent symbols of tradition and forward momentum. By transforming a brand emblem into a physical structure, Tom Ducarouge rejects superficial branding in favor of architectural expression.

The tables are not decorated with a star—they are the star. Corners, welds, and planar fins demonstrate a commitment to craft and precision, while the collective arrangement of tables forms a constellation that anchors the space.
Jury Tables for the LVMH Prize embody the convergence of fashion, art, and design. They create a contemplative stage for critical dialogue, where form and function are inseparable.
Tom Ducarouge project demonstrates how thoughtful design can reinforce identity without overt display, offering an environment that respects heritage while supporting innovation at one of fashion’s most pivotal gatherings.
