Mister Chorister: You’re Not Listening

Cover artwork for Mister Chorister track "You're Not Listening".

Mister Chorister’s “You’re Not Listening” turns the complaint of being unheard into a question about who is doing the listening. What began with frustration toward a colleague shifts toward the possibility that the person being ignored may also be an inner voice, giving the title a second target—echoing the psychological fatigue and corporate workplace absurdity in NOIA: As Per My Last Email. Atmospheric alternative rock, melodic pop-rock and grunge-influenced guitar frame that movement from psychological pressure toward catharsis, sharing an intense rock energy with Birdhouse View: Fight Club.

The song’s central idea gains weight from that change in perspective. “You’re Not Listening” does not leave the problem with another person, but turns it inward, toward fear, grief and the habits that keep difficult feelings suppressed—a tension between confronting reality and seeking quiet shelter that also defines Pablo alto: Capsule. The music follows that pressure as it builds, then breaks open before collapsing into silence. That silence gives the song an unresolved ending. The invisible walls have been challenged, but nothing suggests they disappear on command—echoing the complex emotional restraint and desire for healing found in Twin Ritual: Suffocate. Mister Chorister leaves the question hanging where it began, except now the voice being asked to listen may be much closer than expected.
