On Labs Berlin presents a rare opportunity for design, technology, and performance to intersect within an ephemeral environment that elevates the art of movement. The event showcases the Swiss-engineered LightSpray™ innovation, a groundbreaking upper material for running shoes, demonstrated live by a robotic spraying system. Visitors are invited to step onto a treadmill, lace up the Cloudboom Strike LS, and feel the promise of extreme lightness beneath their feet while Berlin’s dynamic creative scene hums around them.
The atmosphere is carefully curated to highlight both the precision of engineering and the emotive power of art. Suspended overhead, Boris Acket’s kinetic textile work, Architecting Lightness, reacts to invisible air currents, shifting and rippling in a choreography that feels simultaneously natural and deliberate. The textile’s movements redirect the audience’s pace, gently influencing how bodies inhabit the space, making every moment a conversation between technology and sensation. The interplay of sound, light, and material creates a meditative environment that is both immersive and contemplative.
Throughout the weekend, the programming of On Labs Berlin expands beyond product demonstrations. Free running analyses invite athletes and casual joggers to understand their stride on a granular level, while workshops and panel talks connect Berlin’s creative community with global voices in performance and design. DJs and guest performers provide a soundscape that evolves with the day, transforming the space from an experimental lab into a social and cultural gathering point. Community workouts by HAGIUS and recovery massages in the Energy Zone by CNDO extend the event’s reach beyond footwear into holistic well-being.
The scheduling offers diverse moments for connection. Friday introduces visitors to workshops and Berlin’s fastest runners competing in the 3-Minute Showdown, ending with HEISSS-curated DJ sets. Saturday strengthens the sense of community with intimate talks and Atonal’s curated music night, while Sunday celebrates running’s creative potential with mobility sessions, massages, and discussions about how movement inspires artistic thinking.
