The design process for The Fold was an organic and gradual journey, driven by a deep understanding of the clients as individuals. By exploring their likes, dislikes, preferred colors, textures, and overall vision for the house, UNEVEN crafted a concept that resonated with the clients’ desires. The central theme of The Fold revolves around the notion of a folded structural element that forms the essence of the built mass. The composition beautifully incorporates RCC folds and glass facades, resulting in a visually stunning creation.
Straight lines, a subtle color palette, and strategically placed vertical and horizontal members define the built mass of The Fold. The architects employed these elements to create a sense of harmony and connectivity within the space. The extensive use of glass facades and generous openings allows abundant natural light and unobstructed views of the expansive garden, integrating the indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly. Vastu principles and scientific considerations were carefully integrated into the planning, ensuring optimal sunlight and air circulation throughout the three-story bungalow.
The ground floor of The Fold is dedicated to public spaces, including the foyer, formal living area, family room cum entertainment area, puja (prayer room), guest bedroom, kitchen, dining area, and utility spaces. The grand double-height foyer features a stunning custom ceiling installation in the form of inverted lotuses, resembling an exquisite chandelier. The formal living space and the intricately designed mandir area flank the foyer. The dining area, kitchen, and entertainment spaces open up to the lush lawns, creating a harmonious blend of nature and architecture.
The first floor accommodates the parent’s bedroom, sister’s bedroom, a common living area, library space, and a laundry cum linen room. Each space on this floor follows a cohesive design language while being tailored to meet individual needs and preferences. The bathrooms showcase contemporary design details, adding a touch of elegance to the living spaces.
The top floor serves as a private domain for the couple and their son, featuring the master bedroom, the son’s bedroom, a family area, and an office space. The master bedroom and walk-in closet reflect a chic interior design, incorporating warm colors and ample storage solutions. The son’s room embraces his passion for sports, evident through graphical representations.
