yuki’s “Feel It Tonight” places chopped vocals between seven-string guitar riffs and melodic synth leads that refuse to resolve into one another. Raw material rather than narrative, the voice enters as syllables chopped and scattered into percussion and texture. The guitar moves in the low register of metal, while the synths carry melodic dubstep’s upward motion. Both forces occupy the same room without either claiming the full space.
Seven-string riffs hit with the low-register force of metal, while synth leads arc above in melodic phrases. Between them, chopped vocals hang, repeating fragments that never complete a thought. yuki built the track from mobile sketches in Ableton Note before expanding it in Ableton Live. Each vocal chop lands as percussion, keeping the two forces in proximity.
Guitars do not soften, and synths do not drop. The voice keeps cutting, repeating syllables that never complete a sentence. Three elements share the mix without merging: the riffs down, the synths up, the voice between them.
For those who might not know you yet, how would you introduce yourself?
I’m yuki, a melodic dubstep producer. I release my music under Melodic Basement Records and also run my own independent label as a label owner, releasing tracks through my own imprint as well.
If you had to bottle up your sound into just three words, which ones would you choose?
Heavy, Melodic, and Emotional.
Which artists (not only music-related) or moments have left the biggest mark on your music?
For electronic music, Seven Lions has had a massive influence on my sound design. However, as a musician, my ultimate respect goes to Kurt Cobain. To me, a true musician must possess that visual charisma alongside great music, and his iconic presence and raw attitude have deeply shaped my own artistic philosophy.
When you hit play on your songs, what kind of feeling takes over?
It is a feeling of being completely captivated by the weeping melodies, combined with a surge of raw emotion sparked by the heavy riffs that leads to a sense of ultimate release.

I am currently working on my next release. I hope to share some news soon that will surprise my listeners.
Can you walk us through the story or emotion behind “FEEL IT TONIGHT”?
Not limited to this song, but across my entire project, “yuki,” I always focus on combining heavy guitar riffs, melodic leads, and highly emotional arrangements. As for the title, while the vocal is cut up, it comes directly from the lyrics that the original vocalist was singing.
