About the A’ Design Award
The A’ Design Award brings together established practices and emerging designers from around the world, with entries evaluated within categories specific to each discipline. The competition covers a wide range of fields, including the Good Industrial Design Award, Good Architecture Design Award, Good Product Design Award, Good Communication Design Award, Good Service Design Award and Good Fashion Design Award. A look at the 2026 winners
The 2026 winners span architecture, installations, interiors, robotics, wearable technology and product design. The following selection brings together ten projects that reflect the range of disciplines represented across the competition.
The Netherlands Pavilion World Expo 2025
Created by Netherlands Enterprise Agency & AND B.V., the pavilion was recognised with a Platinum A’ Design Award. Developed for Expo 2025 Osaka, the project combines architecture, media and visitor experience around the idea of “Common Ground”, drawing on the Netherlands’ long relationship with water management and collective innovation.
Resonance Light Installation by Yu Fan He
Resonance received a Platinum A’ Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design. The work uses light, spatial composition and movement to create an immersive environment in which illumination becomes the primary material of the installation.
The Creation by Lucent Design Inc.
The Creation received a Platinum A’ Design Award in Lighting Projects and Light Art Design. Created by Lucent Design Inc., the installation uses light as both a physical and symbolic medium, building an atmospheric environment around ideas of the universe, perception and human creativity.
V6 Lifestyle Art Emporium by Li Xiang
V6 Lifestyle Art Emporium received a Golden A’ Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design. The furniture showroom combines Eastern spatial references with contemporary modular logic, using strong geometry and changing spatial sequences to move beyond the conventions of a traditional retail interior.
Magicbot Z1 Multifunctional Robot by Yuchang Cao
Magicbot Z1 received a Platinum A’ Design Award in Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design. Developed as a multifunctional robotic platform, the project combines advanced mechanical systems with a modular architecture intended to support different professional applications and human-robot interaction.
Air Sync Microclimate Wear by Yuta Ishikawa
Air Sync received a Platinum A’ Design Award in Safety Clothing and Personal Protective Equipment Design. Developed in response to increasing heat-related risks, the wearable system channels cooling air towards temperature-sensitive areas of the body through integrated ventilation pathways and ergonomic garment construction.
Element Kitchen Hood by Fabrizio Crisa
Element received a Platinum A’ Design Award in Home Appliances Design. The kitchen hood reduces the appliance to a clean architectural form, combining concealed perimeter extraction with integrated technology while maintaining a restrained presence within contemporary interiors.
Beatbot Aqua Sense X
Designed by Beijing Fromd Design Consulting Co., Ltd., Beatbot Aqua Sense X received a Platinum A’ Design Award in Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design. The autonomous pool-cleaning robot uses AI, sensors and automated navigation to clean the floor, walls, waterline and water surface while adapting to different pool conditions.
Oruha Chair by Yuya Nakazawa
Oruha received a Golden A’ Design Award in Furniture Design. Its angular structure creates a visually precise exterior while the seating surface is designed to provide comfort and a sense of enclosure, particularly in shared interior environments.
Birdcage Chair by Masuo Fujimura
Birdcage received a Golden A’ Design Award in Furniture Design. Drawing on Suruga bamboo filigree from Japan’s Shizuoka region, the chair translates the delicacy of traditional craft into a contemporary steel structure defined by slender lines and a refined material treatment.
Recognition beyond the award
Winning projects receive the A’ Design Prize, which extends beyond the award itself through a range of promotional and professional opportunities. Benefits include the A’ Design Award trophy, winner certificate, licensed winner logo, inclusion in the annual yearbook, participation in exhibitions, an invitation to the Gala Night, international PR and press distribution, media promotion, inclusion in the World Design Rankings and a dedicated winner profile supporting professional visibility and networking.
Inside the jury process
Entries are evaluated by an international jury that includes academics, design professionals, journalists and experts from different creative disciplines. The competition follows a blind peer-review process, with entries assessed according to predefined criteria relevant to their category. The anonymous evaluation system is intended to keep the focus on the submitted project rather than the identity of its designer or studio.
