Europan 17 invites interdisciplinary teams of architects, urban planners and landscape designers under the age of 40 with a European diploma, and master’s students in the same fields, to develop new concepts on Living Cities through its biannual competition.
The E17 competition is seeking proposals for 51 different sites across Europe. It challenges the participants to “reimagine architectures taking care of inhabited environments”, in such a way that natural resources and common goods are saved, and recycling and hybridization processes are encouraged.
Europan is an organization that addresses the current challenges of urban, landscape and architectural design. Organize this competition with 12 European countries.
For each site, international juries award €18,000 in prizes. Winning projects will be published and exhibited, and discussions will be organized between the winning teams and cities across Europe. A part of the winning teams will participate in the implementation processes
Registration for Europan 17 closes on July 30, 2023. Results will be announced on December 4, 2023.
