Victoria Wilmotte’s Colorscape transforms material tension into spatial poetry

Victoria Wilmotte presents Colorscape as a fluid expression of form, texture, and chromatic intensity. Rather than adhering to the conventional model of a collection, the project unfolds as a curated dialogue between new and existing works.

It captures the evolution of Wilmotte’s practice through color as a language and material as narrative. Each object participates in an intricate choreography, where contrast and harmony coexist in precise equilibrium.

Across this ensemble, the designer orchestrates an interplay between polished surfaces and tactile imperfections. Materials such as natural marble, blown glass, and folded sheet metal engage in visual tension with industrial powder coatings.

The results emerge from a process both rigorous and experimental, where finishes acquire individuality through subtle variations.

Victoria Wilmotte extends the powder coating technique first developed in her Sfera series into a more sophisticated exploration—layering hues, alternating frosted and glossy finishes, and blending powders from different brands to produce effects akin to ceramic glazes.

The exhibition assembles 18 new pieces created specifically for the occasion, complemented by earlier works reintroduced for the first time.

A two-toned lamp, rediscovered from a past experiment, integrates seamlessly into the arrangement, emphasizing the continuity of Wilmotte’s aesthetic vocabulary.

Her approach rejects hierarchy, instead forming families of objects united by tone, structure, or surface contrast. Each piece maintains autonomy yet contributes to a collective visual rhythm, an evolving landscape of color and geometry.

Located at 38 rue Madame in Paris, Wilmotte’s newly opened showroom offers a permanent setting for this dialogue.

The space allows the designer to reveal previously unseen works, including a Murano glass mirror that encapsulates the intersection of artisanal craft and contemporary design precision.

Through careful spatial composition, she creates environments where objects are not isolated but interdependent, transforming the showroom into a living laboratory of form and light.

Colorscape also signals a broader ambition in Wilmotte’s trajectory. It moves beyond individual objects toward complete environments, bridging product design with architectural sensibility.

Her vision extends into hospitality and interior projects, where every element—furniture, surface, lighting—contributes to a cohesive visual identity.

This progression affirms her position within the new generation of European designers who navigate between industrial rigor and artistic experimentation.

Since founding her Paris studio in 2009, Victoria Wilmotte has collaborated with brands such as Classicon, Haviland, Daum, Théorème Éditions, and Pulpo.

Her workshop, established in 2015, functions as both production site and creative laboratory. Colorscape embodies this dual spirit—precise craftsmanship shaped by intuition, design as both research and emotion.
